JPG ist für den kontinuierlichen Farbwechsel optimiert und hat Probleme mit harten Farben wie Schwarz- und Weißlinien. Oft ist ein PNG-Bild mit verlustfreier Komprimierung für diese Art von Pixelbildern kleiner als ein JPG.
